Welcome to my day for Peek A Who Blog Hop being hosted by Marian of Seams to Be Sew.
Before I show my project I want to share a memory with you. About a month or so ago I was going through family photos with my mom. I came across photos of my kiddos in their very first sewn Halloween costume sewn my me. My oldest had decided that year to be Buzz Lightyear. My youngest of course, wanted the same as big brother.
I had made their costumes out of fleece because in Colorado it can be cold on Halloween. I didn’t want them to have to wear coat over their costumes. What kid wants to do that?
I had no idea what I was doing. I had sewn a few things when I was in school but never clothes. Tears and blood literally went into those costumes. The wings I found at a Halloween booth in the mall. They were blow up wings. I was so thankful I didn’t had to make those. They were so happy and I was so relieved that I was able to complete them.
Now, they are all grown up and in their 20’s but I still have those costumes up in a closet. The wings too. Can’t seem to part with them. lol
Okay, now my project.
I have been slowly getting back into blogging. I’ve had medical issues over the entire year. Slowly I’ve been getting better. I’ve had thyroid issues and I can’t eat the way I used to. Nothing artificial. My body reacts negatively to just about everything but organic food. I have to make just about everything at home. My weight as a result has been an issue. I’ve lost 25lbs. and I was a small person to start with. So lets just say I’m very skinny. To sum things up, time and energy are struggles for me. For these reasons, I have chosen to work on small projects or ones that are WIP’s. The good news is I’m slowly starting to feel better.
The project I chose, I had originally made one many years ago but it didn’t turn out right. So I decided to give it another try. Turned out much better this time. At least, I’m happy with it.
It is a pattern out of the book Sew Necessary by Art To Heart. It has been one of the most used books in my book collection. Lots of useful projects for the Holidays and everyday.
I totally have a thing for Frankenstein. I just think he can be sew cute crafted. Of course, in the movies he’s not so cute but crafted, definitely cute.
Thank you so much for stopping by today. Time for some drawings.
